Description

A student's zip code shouldn't decide whether they get to college — you can be the person who helps change that.

As a Minds Matter SoCal mentor, you'll be paired with a co-mentor and a small group of high-achieving students from low-income backgrounds, walking alongside them through high school, life, and the road to college. You don't need to have all the answers — mentoring is about showing up with care and building trust over time. We provide training, and many mentors tell us they learn as much from their students as they give. These relationships often last well beyond the program — through college, graduations, even weddings.

Minds Matter Southern California connects driven, determined students from low-income families with the people, preparation, and possibilities to succeed in college. 100% of our students are accepted to four-year colleges — many as the first in their families — and 80% of our current college students attend top-50 schools as ranked by US News.
