About the role
Provides role as patient advocate through role modeling of standards of performance and by communicating and meeting patients’ needs for service. Assists registered nurses in direct care of patients, specifically patients’ activities of daily living. Ensures a safe and therapeutic environment on the unit through observation, monitoring, interacting, and providing or assisting in groups.
Responsibilities
- Consistently adheres to Butler Hospital service standards.
- Acts as patient advocate by role modeling standards of performance and addressing patients' needs for service.
- Assists registered nurses in direct care of patients, focusing on activities of daily living.
- Ensures a safe and therapeutic environment through observation, monitoring, interaction, and group assistance.
- Commits to self-development relevant to the role of mental health worker.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any of the social sciences preferred; comparable behavioral health experience may substitute for the degree.
- Experience working with mentally ill and/or developmentally delayed clients.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) preferred: 2% pay differential available to applicants who maintain an active CNA license.
