Provides role as patient advocate through role modeling of standards of performance and by communicating and meeting patients’ needs for service. Assists registered nurses in direct care of patients, specifically patients’ activities of daily living. Ensures a safe and therapeutic environment on the unit through observation, monitoring, interacting, and providing/assisting in groups.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently adheres to Butler Hospital service standards.
  • Provides role as patient advocate through role modeling of standards of performance and by communicating and meeting patients' needs for service.
  • Assists registered nurses in direct care of patients, specifically patients’ activities of daily living.
  • Ensures a safe and therapeutic environment on the unit through observation, monitoring, interacting, and providing/assisting in groups.
  • Commits to self-development as it pertains to the role of mental health worker.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the social sciences preferred and/or comparable behavioral health experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
  • Experience in working with mentally ill and/or developmentally delayed clients.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • C.N.A. preferred: 2% pay differential available to applicants who maintain an active CNA license.

Schedule

  • 36/72 Part Time Evenings
  • Every Other Weekend
  • Overcensus Float assigned to D3C Delmonico 3C Unit

About the Unit

This unit focuses on providing specialized treatment for patients with unique and complex needs. In addition to patients with psychotic and mood disorders, patients treated on this unit will include those with severe behavioral disturbances and patients who are intellectually and developmentally disabled.
