Mental Health Worker Counselor

Job Responsibilities

• Act as a group leader for an assigned caseload.
• Conduct group therapy and individual counseling as needed.
• Complete all required paperwork (weekly, monthly reports, etc.).
• Manage the daily activities of the residents.
• Attendance at all mandatory staff and in-service meetings.
• Performance of all assigned daily duties.
• Monitoring Resident safety.
• Crisis intervention and management.
• Performance of all other duties requested by supervisor.

Qualifications / Essential Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Good time management skills.
• Ability to work as a “Team Player”.
• Must uphold and maintain professional behavior at all times.
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Dependability and good work ethics.
• Able to build a rapport with the residents while consistently treating them with dignity and respect.
• Experience in mental health and substance abuse populations preferred but not required.
• Able to work with patients in a manner that is productive and coincides with patient treatment goals.

Education

• A High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• A Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.

Schedule

• 8am-4pm (7.5 hour shift)
• 5 days a week
• Either Friday-Saturday off or Sunday-Monday off
