Responsibilities

• Performs direct observation of the patient with a mental health or behavioral safety need.
• Utilizes specialized training, de-escalation techniques, and other interventions as applicable to create a therapeutic and calming environment for patients.
• Communicates patient mental and/or physical status changes to the primary Registered Nurse and/or Nurse Leader.
• Completes data collection related to patient care, administers basic treatments and procedures under the direction of a Registered Nurse, and communicates patient responses to the care provided to the Registered Nurse.
• Affords personal accountability for organizational mission and core values.

Job Requirements

• Diploma/G.E.D. required
• One year experience in an acute care setting, mental health, human services, or related field is preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of therapeutic interventions
• Basic computer skills
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association

Work Environment

Medium Work - Exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly

Pay Range

$17.00 - $22.30 /hour
