Mental Health Worker

Description

Trinity Health Of New England is looking for a Behavioral Health Aide / Mental Health Worker to join their team at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford Springs, CT. The Mental Health Worker / Behavioral Health Tech plays a crucial role in keeping patients engaged in recovery-oriented activities, communicating patient needs to the clinical team, monitoring patient safety, and creating a healing environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient observations and other patient care activities.
• Observes patient behavior.
• Performs, reports, and documents vital signs, ADLs.
• Responds rapidly to emergency call lights and performs safety checks.
• Provides group and individual interventions to assist psychiatric patients towards recovery and rehabilitation.

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma/Equivalent with related experience required. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
• Certification: AHA CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers.
• Experience: Broad practical understanding of life experiences and the ability to relate to emotionally ill individuals. Prior experience in psychiatric setting a plus. Ability to prioritize tasks, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate good problem-solving skills.
