MENTAL HEALTH WORKER

About the role

Maintains a safe and comfortable environment for patients. Reports observations and actions to the charge nurse. May be required to assist with de-escalation of combative behaviors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Bachelor’s degree in human services field preferred
• Minimum of 6 months experience working in a patient-centered environment
• Preference given to experience working with patients who have behavioral health or addiction issues
• Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements
• Ability to effectively communicate with all patient populations
• Ability to appropriately apply restraint and seclusion procedures when necessary
• Ability to process patient information and perform assigned duties in a confidential, professional and empathetic manner
• Ability to operate internal computer systems and applications to effectively accomplish assigned duties
