About the role

Vista Del Mar is an inpatient psychiatric hospital serving Ventura and the surrounding areas. Our Mental Health Workers provide direct care to our clients in the form of greeting and orienting new clients, crisis de-escalation and intervention, and assisting clients with completing treatment related activities and daily life tasks. Mental Health Workers are an essential part of our multi-disciplinary team that help to ensure the safety and dignity of our hospital's environment.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and orienting new clients
• Crisis de-escalation and intervention
• Aiding clients with treatment-related activities and daily life tasks
• Communicating effectively with clients and staff
• Maintaining confidentiality of client information
• Using medical and psychological terminology when appropriate
• Demonstrating leadership and teamwork skills
• Solving problems creatively in a fast-paced environment
• Adhering to a trauma-informed care approach

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Previous inpatient or RTC experience (not required)
• CPR and CPI certifications (must be obtained within 30 days of hire)

Pay

Approximate pay range: $21.00 - 25.00 per hour. Shift differentials apply for NOC Shift (7p - 7:30A).
