Mental Health Wellness Line Professional

About the role

Join the VitalCore team in Massachusetts! We’re looking for Full-Time Mental Health Wellness Line Professionals (LCSW, LICSW, or LMHC) for a hybrid role with 16 hours/week onsite at Souza Baranowski Correctional Center in Lancaster, MA, and 24 hours/week remote answering Wellness Line calls. This position provides off-shift telephonic triage and support for patients under the direction of behavioral health staff to augment existing response protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provides wellness line triage and support from 8pm to 8am, 7 days per week using technological resources.
• Offers support around psychosocial stressors for patients, including de-escalation techniques, brief counseling, active listening, encouragement, and safety planning.
• Escalates crisis and high-risk calls as needed.
• Communicates all calls received to site mental health teams to ensure proper follow-up planning.
• Identifies warning signs of increased risk and notifies appropriate parties to ensure patient safety.
• Provides education to patients on accessing resources, such as mental health and medical services via sick slip and crisis protocols.
• Attends required training and meetings.
• Documents details of each call, including the nature of the call, intervention provided, and disposition in the patient record.
• Demonstrates proficiency in all company software required for the position.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or related field.
• Must be a licensed professional (LCSW, LICSW, or LMHC) in Massachusetts.
• Subject to initial and ongoing security clearance requirements.
