Position Description
The Mental Health Professional provides intensive therapeutic services to children and adolescents and their family using research and evidenced-based therapy models targeting the specific needs of the child. Services are provided in the school and office settings with the child as a participant in his/her own treatment. The Mental Health Professional develops and implements individualized treatment plans by assessing the strengths and therapeutic needs of the child and the child’s family.
Responsibilities
- Provide flexible scheduling and service options for families.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of child development and childhood disorders.
- Assess the strengths and therapeutic needs of the child and family.
- Provide family-focused therapy to client/family members according to the treatment plan.
- Provide both face-to-face and telehealth services to clients and their families.
- Provide services as needed by the family-could be in-school or early evening center-based appointments.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Possess the ability to work with children/adolescents and their families in a professional and empathetic manner.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in a mental health field.
- Mandated Reporter and Safety Care Training within 30 days of hire.
- Provide clearances with a clean record, free from allegations or findings related to abuse, neglect, exploitation or other criminal acts against children, i.e. Act 33, Act 34 or FBI Clearance.
Preferred Training / Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with children/adolescents.
- Training in PCIT, TFCBT, EMDR, DBT, or other evidence-based interventions.
- LSW licensure.
