Position Summary

The Mental Health Therapist III or Licensed Mental Health Therapist position at Sea Mar Community Health Centers in Mount Vernon, WA, is seeking an experienced clinician to provide mental health assessments and care in the Skagit County region. This role is part of an approved site for state and federal student loan repayment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain a caseload in compliance with agency caseload and productivity requirements
  • Affirm agency compliance with WAC's, RCW's, and other pertinent laws, regulations, and contracts
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures as directed by the Program Manager
  • Educate staff regarding health service referrals and psychoeducational topics
  • Provide diagnostic assessments, document outcomes, and communicate with relevant parties
  • Manage patient records, including intake, assessment, treatment plan, crisis plan, authorization paperwork, clinical encounters, 180 reviews, etc.
  • Coordinate care with psychiatric services and monitor medication effects
  • Provide consultation to Sea Mar staff and develop treatment plans for patients
  • Offer individual counseling and crisis stabilization services
  • Gather and exchange information with outside service providers

Education and Experience

  • Mental Health Therapist III: Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, or social work with coursework in psychological diagnostics; four or more years of experience; active Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor License or mental health Associate License (including MFT, MHC, and CSW); must meet criteria of a Mental Health Professional (MHP)
  • Licensed Mental Health Therapist: Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, or social work with coursework in psychological diagnostics; four or more years of clinical experience; active Washington State Mental Health Counselor License, Marriage and Family Therapist License, or Independent Clinical Social Worker License; must meet criteria of a Mental Health Professional (MHP)
