About the Role

The TBS Clinician (Mental Health Therapist) works intensively with participants in their home or community, providing services up to 20 hours a week based on individual needs. The role involves designing, structuring, modeling, and supporting one-to-one interventions to modify target behaviors or teach appropriate alternative behaviors. Clinicians develop transition plans to sustain improvements after services conclude.

This is a full-time position requiring afternoon and evening availability. Clinical services are provided in community, home, office, and telehealth settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide behavioral health clinical intervention and recovery services to assigned participants and their families.
• Develop and implement treatment plans, including individual, group, and family therapy.
• Perform routine and emergency assessments, crisis intervention, and related treatment services.
• Manage an assigned caseload of children, youth, and/or young adult participants.
• Provide consultation to other staff, programs, and agencies regarding treatment needs and plans.
• Design and deliver one-to-one interventions to address target behaviors or teach alternative behaviors.
• Develop transition plans to support participants and caregivers after services conclude.

Qualifications

Education:

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a related field.

Experience:

• Mental Health Therapist I: One (1) year of internship experience providing mental health services in a behavioral health, clinic, residential, school-based, or community-based setting for children, youth, or young adults.
• Mental Health Therapist II: Two (2) years of post-master’s experience providing professional mental health services in a behavioral health, clinic, residential, school-based, or community-based setting for children, youth, or young adults.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Valid California Driver’s License, satisfactory driving record, and a properly registered and insured vehicle (to be maintained throughout employment).
• Mental Health Therapist I: Valid registration as an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW), Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS). Some programs may consider candidates able to obtain registered status within the first six (6) months after hire.
• Mental Health Therapist II: Valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).

Pay

This position is paid on a bi-weekly basis across 26 pay periods.

• Mental Health Therapist I: $70,304 - $89,434.15 per year
• Mental Health Therapist II: $77,112 - $98,416.62 per year

Final compensation is based on relevant experience, education, and qualifications permitted by law.
