Mental Health Therapist / Crisis Center / $3,000 Sign-On Bonus
About the role
We are hiring for a Mental Health Therapist in our Crisis Center with a $3,000 sign‑on bonus. This is a regular position for a positive and personable individual looking to make a real difference in the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and those facing mental health and substance use challenges. The role is within our Behavioral Health Urgent Care setting, providing crisis assessment and referrals for individuals with behavioral health diagnoses or substance use disorders. The Behavioral Health Urgent Care offers crisis stabilization and emergency care for people experiencing a mental health or substance use/addiction crisis, and immediate access to assessment, treatment, and support for behavioral health needs. The position works nights (3‑12 hour shifts, 8 pm‑8 am) with a starting pay rate of $28/hour plus shift differential for overnights. Licensed Clinical Professional required; no on‑call expectation, no productivity requirement, supportive and positive work environment, with shift differential for nights and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Providing direct patient care to individuals with psychiatric disorders and substance use disorders in the crisis center
- Ensuring the safety and well‑being of each patient
- Supporting the maintenance of the therapeutic environment
- Triage
- Complete crisis assessment
- Provide clinical recommendations and case management
- Demonstrate de‑escalation skills and solution‑focused approach
- IVC First evaluations
Requirements
- Preferred experience: LCSW, LCMHC, LMFT, LCAS, or relevant associate level license
- Valid driver’s license and automotive insurance required
- Crisis experience required
- Pre‑employment screening: complete criminal background check (including OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities)
- Drug testing
- Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements
- Proof of employment history or references (if required)
- For positions requiring driving: proof of driver's license, driver's insurance, and vehicle (if required for providing transportation for individuals)
