About the role

We are an early-stage company building a new kind of mental health program for kids, focusing on schools. Our goal is to support school staff who interact with students daily. This role involves:

  • Earlier intervention
  • Higher student and family engagement in care
  • Better coordination among the trusted adults in a student’s life
  • Kids should be able to experience joy and envision a life they’re excited to live

What You’ll Do

  • Provide excellent care, including mental health assessments and skills-based teletherapy, to students in partner school districts
  • Collaborate with referring school counselors and other relevant providers throughout a student's care journey
  • Build trusted relationships with school staff and families to support mental health needs
  • Offer regular psycho-education and support to parents and caregivers
  • Collaborate with Cartwheel MDs/NPs on treatment planning and care delivery
  • Support the identification of referrals to community mental health and primary care providers
  • Participate in case consultations and discussions with other Cartwheel team members

Who You Are

  • Passionate about working in close partnership with schools on mental health
  • Masters Degree or higher from an accredited school of Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or Marriage/Family/Child Counseling
  • Active license in Ohio to deliver mental health care (LISW, LPCC, LMFT, or PsyD)
  • Experience with CBT, DBT, ACT, solution-focused therapy, and/or motivational interviewing
  • Strong technological skills and learning new systems, including Zoom, G-Suite, electronic health record systems, and other collaboration tools
  • Reliable, high-speed internet access
  • Excellent organization, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to offer hours both during and especially after a typical school day

Extra Credit

  • Fluency in other languages (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese)
  • Experience working in a shorter-term model of care delivery (e.g., 2 weeks to 6 months)
  • Experience with parent guidance
  • Active NPI number
  • CAQH credentialing set up
