About the role
As a Mental Health Coordinator at CoreCivic, you will plan and provide clinical mental health services of a non-medical nature in the facility. The role involves conducting mental health screenings, developing treatment plans, and delivering counseling and crisis interventions to inmates.
Responsibilities
- Conduct mental health screenings and assessments through record reviews and clinical interviews with inmates.
- Provide treatment by developing, implementing, and modifying individual treatment plans based on needs and level of functioning.
- Document all treatment and evaluation activities in health care records for each individual.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive materials and information.
- Apply thorough knowledge of psychological counseling theory and techniques in treatments and activities for individuals in caseload.
- Perform mental health assessments, counseling, and crisis interventions to address inmate needs.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related clinical field.
- Five years of clinical experience, including two years in a comparable job position.
- Appropriate certification or licensing in the state of practice (e.g., LPC, LCSW, or LMFT).
- Must be at least 20 years of age.
