Mental Health Therapist and/or SUD Counselor

September 11, 2026 – CAYA Clinic in Madison, WI is seeking a Mental Health & Substance Use Counselor to join our team of passionate harm‑reduction psychotherapists. CAYA Clinic provides affordable treatment options for people who use drugs who would like to use safer, moderate their use, change their relationship with substances, or receive mental health, eating disorder, or trauma therapies with no abstinence requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client assessments and intake interviews.
• Develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide one‑on‑one counseling sessions.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions.
• Maintain client files in compliance with DHS 75.5 requirements.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team to address each client’s clinical needs.

Qualifications

• Current, full licensure as one of the following: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Substance Abuse Counselor, or Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor.
• Demonstrated compassion, caring attitude, and passion for harm‑reduction psychotherapy.
