Mental Health/SUD Therapist

About the role

This position will provide clinical services to clients seeking mental health and/or substance abuse treatment services from the Mental Health/AODA Outpatient Clinic. Primary duties include assessment and treatment plan development based on Person Centered Planning principles; providing individual, family, and group therapy as identified in the treatment plan; providing consultation and education services to clients, organizations, and community agencies; completing required paperwork to meet certification and other state reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct treatment plans using agency-developed/approved tools based on person-centered planning principles; plans are time-limited, outcome-based, and focus on client-identified goals.
• Provide individual and group counseling as identified in the treatment plan, utilizing motivational interviewing techniques and evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
• Participate in programs/projects of the Outpatient Clinic, including urgent care/crisis counseling, hospital and/or jail consults as scheduled.
• Maintain case records in the agency’s computerized client system (SmartCare EHR) to document services rendered, clinical review of cases, and all other client-related services.
• Complete required forms and reports in a timely manner that meet state and federal regulations and guidelines, including DHS 75.
• Participate in scheduled clinical supervision and case review sessions with the Medical Director, completing all required paperwork for such reviews.
• Assist in mentoring new clinicians and interns at WCHSD OPC.
• Adhere to Wood County Safety policies and exemplify the Wood County Core Values and Code of Conduct.
• Actively participate in development and conducting quality improvement projects.
• Provide consultation and education services to clients, organizations, and community agencies as requested.
• Attend in-service trainings to meet licensing requirements and support professional growth.
• Perform other functions as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Professional Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field.
• 3,000 hours of postgraduate supervised clinical work.
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Wisconsin.
• Wisconsin AODA certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC), Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC), Substance Abuse Counselor-In Training (SAC-IT), or equivalent experience providing substance use treatment.
• Ability to work independently, possess strong communication skills, and collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to work in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations and agency policies.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, basic arithmetic for report preparation, policy interpretation, and maintaining client confidentiality.
