Mental Health Technician PRN
Job Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Technician PRN at Parkland Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare. The role requires 12-hour shifts, primarily 7p-7a, with a minimum of 2 shifts per pay period and 1 weekend shift per 4-week schedule, plus 2 holidays per calendar year.
Essential Functions
- Demonstrates expertise in mental health promotion and comprehensive patient care.
- Respects patient integrity, information, and rights.
- Performs tasks to maintain a therapeutic milieu and optimal patient care.
- Escorts patients safely and professionally.
- Maintains cleanliness of the unit.
- Maintains high interpersonal relationships with program staff.
- Uses appropriate telephone etiquette.
- Maintains support services vital to effective program operation.
- Maintains unit filing and paperwork system.
- Aids in patients' activities of daily living.
- Maintains a safe environment.
- Promotes customer satisfaction.
- Buils and promotes a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Required: American Heart Association BCLS and CPI within 30 days of hire.
- Preferred: At least one year of experience as a MHT in a healthcare setting; Bachelor’s or Associates degree in psychology or human service field.
