About the role

Responsible for assisting unit staff in the provision of Psychiatric Rehabilitative services to patients on the Psychiatric Inpatient Unit. Assists with structured activities, personal care needs, and discharge planning. Provides crisis intervention techniques as necessary to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Prior healthcare experience with demonstrated competency in a psychiatric setting preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English in a clear and concise manner
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire or within 6 months of hire
  • Phlebotomy education required at time of hire or within 6 months of hire
  • Effective January 2019, certifications for BLS, ACLS, and PALS must be granted through the American Heart Association

Pay

St. Joseph’s Health provides a salary range to comply with New Jersey Law. The rate of pay for each position will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, and skills. The salary range does not include incentives, differential pay, or other forms of compensation.

About The Team

St. Joseph’s University Medical Center is an academic tertiary care medical center and state-designated trauma center located on the Paterson campus. It regularly accepts referrals of difficult or unusual cases from other hospitals and physicians and performs both complex and routine procedures.
