Mental Health Technician - Inpatient Psychiatry

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining accurate medical records and documentation.
• Monitor patient safety, behavior, and interactions.
• Provide clerical and administrative support to the behavioral health program.
• Absorb patient data collection and observation reporting.
• Communicate relevant patient information to the interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Utilize effective verbal and non-verbal communication techniques to provide therapeutic patient support.
• Assist with patient transportation to outside appointments, when necessary.
• Support a safe, respectful, and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a psychiatric and/or substance use treatment setting required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) experience preferred.

Skills

• Familiarity with medical and psychiatric terminology.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to establish positive, respectful rapport with patients and families.
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work weekends as scheduled.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.

Pay

$22.00 - $25.00 per hour.

Schedule

• Full-time, Day Shift - 700 a.m. to 730 p.m., including every other weekend (36 hours per week).
• Full-time, Night Shift - 700 p.m. to 730 a.m., including every other weekend (36 hours per week).
• PRN/Per Diem - Day or night shift availability.
