We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Mental Health Technician to join our team at Hendricks Behavioral Hospital!
Responsibilities
- Provide continuous care, supervision, and positive role modeling to patients across various age groups from adolescents to geriatrics.
- Create a therapeutic environment that fosters patient support and well-being.
- Accurately record vital signs.
- Exercise judgment in patient interactions and report changes to the RN.
- Follow therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team and provide information for development and revision.
- Employ crisis-intervention techniques, conduct MHT-led groups, and use facility-approved CPI techniques.
- Assist patients through discharge, guide in adjusting to life changes, and help with personal hygiene.
- Comply with policies for a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment, practicing universal precautions and responding to patient care priorities.
Requirements
- Education: High School Degree or equivalent preferred; Certified Nursing or NAR required; Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy, psychology, human services, or appropriate therapeutic discipline preferred.
- Experience: One year of related experience, with a knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with an understanding of mental illness, preferred.
Qualifications
- Valid Indiana Driver’s License.
- Current CPR certification.
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of mental health disorders and treatment options.

Pay
The expected compensation range is $20.00- $24.00 hourly.
Schedule
This is a full-time role.
