Mental Health Technician
About the role
Change lives and come join a highly skilled multi-discipline team of professionals providing care to high-risk individuals in a state facility located in the heart of the metro area. The Oklahoma County Crisis Intervention Center (OCCIC) is looking for friendly, hard-working Mental Health Technicians to join their team! This position works as a part of the treatment team by developing and maintaining a supportive relationship with consumers to address strengths, goals and barriers to recovery.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care to consumers of behavioral health treatment in an inpatient, outpatient or residential care setting
- Monitor recovery progress toward treatment goals
- Perform de-escalation activities
- Participate in recovery, wellness, and social skills groups
- Develop and manage other group activities
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- No experience or education required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Special Requirements
Upon a conditional offer of employment, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 50 pounds and able to push and pull a maximum force of 25 pounds.

Pay
- Starting salary is $29,328.20 plus shift differentials and benefit allowance
- Extra $0.43/hour for working evenings and nights
- Extra $0.75/hour for working weekends
- Extra $1/hour for working on an inpatient or crisis unit
Schedule
- Full-time
- Currently hiring for day and night shifts
- Potential for overtime
- May include weekends
- Coverage required 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
Additional requirements
Drug and alcohol pre-employment and pre-placement testing: upon a conditional offer of employment, applicants for safety-sensitive positions shall be required to submit to urinalysis to test for drugs. Appointment to a safety-sensitive position shall be contingent upon a negative drug test result.
