Mental Health Technician

About the role

Join a Mission-Driven Mental Health Team Connections Mental Health is hiring a dedicated and dependable Mental Health Technician (MHT) for our swing shift (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM) at our residential mental health treatment center.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and supervision to adult clients in a residential mental health setting
• Complete admissions documentation and client intakes in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
• Monitor clients through facility rounds and document per company protocol
• Conduct urine drug screens according to waived testing procedures
• Assist with medication administration (med pass) under clinical supervision
• Observe and report changes in client behavior or safety concerns
• Reinforce program rules and client agreements respectfully and consistently
• Support a safe and therapeutic environment by maintaining cleanliness and order
• Communicate effectively with the treatment team regarding client progress and needs
• Respond calmly and appropriately to emergencies or crisis situations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
• TB test and health screening required upon hire
• At least 1 year of prior experience in a residential treatment center, mental health facility, or substance use recovery program
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Basic computer literacy and ability to complete electronic charting
