Job Summary
You will be vital support for Behavioral Health's front and back office functions, assisting psychiatrists, patients, and the care management team. You'll ensure smooth operations, quality medication management, and clinical problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Provide basic medication triage, support services, and take vital signs for behavioral health patients.
- Manage front office reception, patient registration, insurance/copay processing, and telephones.
- Handle back office tasks like refill requests, injections, and accurate EHR documentation.
- Maintain a secure environment and act as a resource for emergency situations.
- Perform basic nursing tasks such as vital signs, blood pressure, specimen collection, ACCU checks, weighing, and assisting with ADLs.
- Aids in emergency care and assists the nurse in carrying out orders within the scope of practice.
- Provides trauma-informed care and supervision to patients needing physical restraints or seclusion.
- Assists patients in dealing with relationship difficulties, supports and teaches appropriate socialization skills, and facilitates various supportive, classroom, and psych-educational activities.
- Communicates effectively using both verbal and written methods within a diverse and multicultural environment.
- Maintains appropriate communication networks and harmonious working relationships with members of the interdisciplinary team and other departments.
Requirements
- Required: High School Graduate and at least 1 year of experience in mental health.
- Preferred: Bachelors degree in Human Services or one year experience in the Behavioral Health field.
- Preferred: Graduation from a Psychiatric Assistant and Nurse Aide training program.
