Mental Health Technician

About the role

Assists nursing staff in observing and monitoring behavior and physical state of patients with emotional and/or behavioral problems.

Performs basic patient care tasks including assisting patients with personal hygiene and other regular daily living activities in accordance with nursing care plans.

Establishes therapeutic relationships with patients and encourages their participation in recreational and other therapeutic activities.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• One year of experience.

Qualifications

• BLS certification through AHA or American Red Cross.

Skills

• Ability to work with emotionally and behaviorally challenged patients.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of therapeutic activities.
