Alliance Health Center is a 154-bed acute care psychiatric and chemical dependency hospital in Meridian, Mississippi. The facility offers treatment programs for adults, adolescents, and seniors, including The Crossings, a 60-bed residential treatment facility for adolescents where this role is based.

About the role

We are seeking an energetic, responsible Mental Health Tech (MHT) to work with our adolescent patients. This position involves role-modeling pro-social and coping skills, facilitating patient classes and activities, and maintaining a positive, professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and role model pro-social and coping skills for patient observation.
• Consistently present a positive attitude while carrying out assigned duties and interacting with patients, families, and coworkers.
• Utilize therapeutic communication skills and maintain professional boundaries with patients and their families.
• Apply basic problem-solving skills and seek supervision when needed.
• Adhere to the policies of Alliance Health Center on a consistent basis.
• Facilitate patient classes and activities.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Preferred: two years’ work experience in a psychiatric treatment setting with children and adolescents.
