About the role
The Quality Assurance Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality of services provided at Los Angeles Crisis Residential Treatment facilities. They assist the QA Manager in executing quality assurance policies and procedures, auditing documentation, overseeing service documentation, managing deficiencies, and coordinating CQI activities.
Responsibilities
- Aiding the QA Manager in the execution of quality assurance program policies and procedures.
- Auditing documentation to reconcile with billing and overseeing service documentation to ensure conformity with Medi-Cal, Los Angeles County DMH, and other external standards.
- Managing all charts with deficiencies by processing them to the appropriate departments for correction.
- Safeguarding the discharged chart in the correct sequence and completion.
- Oversight of the Continuous Quality Assurance program, medical records, and recording CQI data.
- Aiding in the preparation and presentation of CQI materials and gathering necessary data.
- Frequent reporting of progress and thorough oversight for accuracy.
- Regular interaction with all staff members, physicians, and external agencies.
- Ensuring chart documentation is maintained and data collection into L.A. County data collection sites is accurate.
- Performing other quality improvement tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in quality improvement/quality assurance, human services, psychology, or a related social science field.
- Two (2) years of experience in the mental health field or a dedicated QA role (preferred).
- Experience in Quality Assurance (QA) or Total Quality Management (TQM) (preferred).
- One (1) year of experience working with Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LACDMH) clinical documentation standards.
Qualifications
- Current California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license.
