About the Role
Zepf Center, the leading provider of behavioral health and substance use disorder services in Northwest Ohio, is seeking a Full Time Mental Health Professional for our emergency services department. This 24/7 comprehensive program assesses Lucas County adults, children, and adolescents experiencing psychiatric or behavioral crises, determining treatment options such as hospitalization or community-based services.
Responsibilities
- Conduct triage and intake interviews by phone or in-person with clients and referral sources.
- Complete counseling/social work assessments, mental status exams, and social histories.
- Assess and determine the most appropriate treatment, developing planned treatment.
- Provide linkage to case management and services.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and appropriate clinical records.
- Respond promptly to scenes when dispatched by the Crisis Line.
- Work cooperatively with emergency personnel to resolve crisis situations.
- Make appropriate emergency and crisis interventions at the scene.
- Provide immediate follow-up and linkage following crisis intervention.
- Deliver services in the most appropriate setting, including agency or field locations.
- Initiate and develop prevention strategies.
- Provide consultation and education services during crises and in training for emergency personnel.
- Perform crisis follow-up for specific issues within a defined timeframe.
- Maintain timely and complete documentation meeting CMS, CARF, and OHMAS standards.
- Perform short-term, brief solution-focused counseling for specific issues.
- Ensure collection of appropriate client assessment and demographic information.
- Accurately document service provision and billing information for reimbursement.
- Provide critical incident intervention for workplace traumatic incidents.
- Maintain competence and annual certification in CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Intervention.
Requirements
- Licensure: LSW, LPC, LISW, or LPCC.
- 2 years of crisis intervention experience.
- Health Officer designation.
- Valid Ohio driver’s license; eligibility to drive company vehicles and meet agency commercial insurance coverage requirements.
- Proof of active auto insurance if using a personal vehicle for business.
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
Working Conditions
This position is in a 24-hour unit, requiring the ability to work scheduled weekends and perform emergency overtime as necessary pursuant to contract guidelines.
