Mental Health Professional- Adolescent RTF

About the role

The Mental Health Professional (MHP) is a member of the multidisciplinary team, responsible for providing mental health treatment services and assisting individuals (and often their families) achieve optimal functioning through therapeutic services. The MHP works with employees to implement individual and group programming, either in home or community settings, and provides responsible care while overseeing the routine operation of the location during duty hours. This position plays a key role in the clinical aspects of individuals' recovery processes and reports directly to the Program Director or Clinical Supervisor. This role is part of the Youth Mental Health Services Adolescent Residential Treatment Facility (RTF).

Responsibilities

• Ensure individuals' health, safety, and welfare by monitoring physical and psychiatric health needs.
• Enhance quality of life and community integration by supporting established goals.
• Develop and implement program plans to improve social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and independent living skills.
• Conceptualize, plan, and facilitate individual and group sessions, including family therapies when applicable.
• Perform clinical assessments and develop/implement treatment plans.
• Complete all required documentation, including treatment plans, reports, logs, and other records.
• Communicate and collaborate with team members, families, agencies, and the community.
• Provide crisis management and intervention, including handling verbal/physical altercations, suicidal/self-injurious behaviors, and on-call duties as assigned.
• Learn and model the five principles of trauma-informed care: safety, choice, collaboration, trustworthiness, and empowerment.
• Promote cultural, racial, language, and gender access, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Provide case administration for an assigned caseload and serve as team leader when needed.
• Assist families in developing and utilizing community and natural resources.
• Support adolescents and families during discharge and follow-up periods.

Requirements

This position requires one of the following combinations of education and experience:

• Master's degree from an accredited college or university; licensure is preferred (LCSW, LSW, LPC).
• At minimum, a graduate mental health degree and at least one year of experience in the behavioral health delivery system.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM–7:00 PM, plus shared on-call duties.

Pay

Starting salary: $60,000 per year. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is available, paid upon successful completion of the 3-month probationary period.
