About the role

Under general supervision of the Division Director of Residential Mental Health (Men), you will work with subordinate staff to ensure the provision of mental health services to the residential mental health inmate population assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure facilitation of and participate in treatment team and regularly scheduled staff meetings.
  • Provide oversight and monitoring of all crisis intervention activities in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Ensure after-hours coverage for crisis intervention and participate in on-call rotation.
  • Provide and document clinical supervision to subordinate QMHPs, Mental Health Officers, and administrative staff.
  • Ensure clinical services are provided in accordance with SCDC policy.
  • Facilitate the interview and selection process and on-the-job training of mental health tasks.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record.
  • Successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in guidance, counseling, social sciences, or a related field.
  • Professional experience in a mental health, human service, or social service program.
  • Master’s degree in clinical social work, counseling, or related degree.
  • Four (4) years of experience in counseling.
  • Licensed as an LPC-A, LPC, LMSW, LISW, or LMFT or higher OR have comparable out-of-state licensure with eligibility for SCLLR license, which must be obtained within 6 months.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
  • LPC, LPC-S, LISW-CP, LISW-CP-S, LMFT, or LMFT-S license.
