Mental Health Direct Support Professional - PRN

About the role

Mental Health DSPs at Envision Unlimited are integral members of a multidisciplinary team responsible for supervising, training, and implementing individualized treatment plans and behavior management strategies. They facilitate all client activities and document these activities according to CARF Accreditation and funding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care and recovery-oriented services to clients with mental illness.
• Outline strengths, challenges, and accomplishments in clients' treatment plans.
• Aid clients in achieving independent living goals through training in areas like activities of daily living, budgeting, transportation, and developing healthy relationships.
• Develop and adhere to a healthy meal plan based on clients' dietary needs and assist in meal preparation as needed.
• Supervise clients in participating in recreational activities within the community.
• Administer and supervise the self-administration of medications, providing training and following up with supervisors and medical professionals.
• Document medication use as required by DHS standards for each shift worked.
• Read and initial the communication log at the start of each shift and document services provided in individual or group note forms.
• Complete other required documentation such as shift notes, attendance logs, communication logs, incident reports, and contact notes.
• Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and secure living environment for clients by completing household cleaning tasks.
• Participate in fire, tornado, and evacuation drills to maintain regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• At least 21 years old
• High School Diploma or GED
• Able to pass a criminal background check
• Valid Driver's License
• One year of social service experience, preferred
