Mental Health Counselor II (Part-time, Bilingual Preferred)

The Mental Health Counselor will provide a range of social work and therapeutic services to children and their families which enable them to deal with problems identified.
Responsibilities
The Mental Health Counselor is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and providing therapeutic interventions for clients and families in the assigned area. Primary responsibilities include providing individual, family and group therapy per diagnostic assessment and individualized treatment plan, coordinating treatment with referral resources and other professionals, maintaining client records, and meeting productivity expectations. Sessions could be in-person at the Family Resource Center, virtual or home-based in Bexar County.
Requirements
- Master’s in social work or related human services field
- Fully licensed as an LMSW; or Provisionally licensed as an LPC-Associate, or LMFT-Associate
- Passed licensure examination to obtain LMSW, LMFT-Associate, or LPC-Associate
- Employment is contingent upon obtaining full/provisional licensure within 90 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- Entry level with one year's experience
- Fluent in Spanish. English Required
- One (1) year experience in case management, crisis intervention, or child welfare
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
- Ability to relate well to children and families in crisis
- Comfortable with complexity, advocacy, and mediation
- Strong ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Good paperwork and organizational skills
- Ability to submit all documentation electronically and in office timely
Work Conditions
Environment: Home-based office, Family Resource Center, Homes, Virtual. Range of Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 8:00 pm. Travel: Frequent, Bexar County - Reliable personal transportation, valid Texas Driver License and current auto insurance required. Mileage reimbursed.
