Job Summary
The Counseling Services office seeks a temporary full-time in-person Mental Health Counselor to provide clinical and outreach services on the Worcester campus.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and case management services via in-person and telehealth sessions
- Crisis assessment, intervention, and safety planning using ethical and legal standards and best practices
- Aid in the mental health related leave of absence and post-hospitalization processes for students
- Consult with faculty and staff on student concerns
- Maintain clinical notes and necessary documentation
- Engage in clinical supervision and consultation
- Collaborate with fellow Counseling Services staff on centralization efforts and Quality Improvement initiatives
- Develop and deliver mental health outreach programming and education
- Participate in University-wide committees and events
- Assist with clinical support to campus partners related to student mental health needs
Qualifications
Requires an understanding of the educational, developmental, cultural, and social needs of a diverse student population. Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field required. Licensure as a Mental Health Counselor in Massachusetts preferred. Experience working with graduate and professional level students in an academic setting is highly desirable.
