Mental Health Counselor
About the role
The Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), in alignment with the mission, vision, and strategic priorities of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and the Division of Student Affairs, provides high-quality, student-centered mental health services that support student well-being and success.
Reporting to the Director of Counseling Services, the LMHC delivers a full range of clinical and outreach services, including individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, prevention, and psychoeducational programming. The counselor plays a critical role in fostering emotional resilience and promoting a culture of care across campus.
This position contributes directly to student success and retention by addressing the mental health needs of a diverse student body, including those pursuing academically rigorous and high-performance programs in aviation, aerospace, and STEM disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a full range of clinical and outreach services, including individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, prevention, and psychoeducational programming.
- Foster emotional resilience and promote a culture of care across campus.
- Address the mental health needs of a diverse student body, including those pursuing academically rigorous and high-performance programs in aviation, aerospace, and STEM disciplines.
Requirements
- Florida State License required, i.e. LMHC, LCSW, LMFT
- Professional experience working with diverse populations.
- Experience in facilitating and coordinating psych-educational workshops, training, and presentations.
- Experience in a university counseling center with a broad-based comprehensive student development perspective.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Mental Health related field

Pay
The annual salary range for this role is $60,000-70,000. The final offer will be based on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience, as well as applicable state regulations, internal equity, and business needs, and may fall outside of the stated range.
