About the role
Oversees the day-to-day clinical operations of a facility. Develops and implements an operational plan for approved policies, procedures, and programs. Delegates tasks and provides regular clinical supervision. Delivers professional mental health services to inmates and handles all administrative tasks associated with the position.
Responsibilities
- Development and implementation of clinical programs in conjunction with the Chief Psychiatrist
- Provision of the full range of mental health services to assigned patients, including mental health evaluation, group & individual therapy, and crisis intervention, with all services documented in the patient’s medical record
- Ensuring 24-hour coverage for the facility, on-call and/or on-site
- Participation in treatment team activities, including the development and periodic review of inmate treatment plans
- Review of forensic evaluations
- Provision of crisis intervention training to staff
- Delivery of group & individual therapy and psycho-educational groups as requested by the treatment team
- Administration and interpretation of intellectual and personality assessments when requested by the treatment team or as required by a forensic evaluation
- Participation in unit morning reports (at relevant sites)
- On-call responsibilities as assigned
- Promotion of a positive working relationship with Health Services, mental health staff, correctional staff, and CFG administrative staff
- Compliance with employee standards of CFG Health Systems, LLC and applicable employee standards of the facility, including maintenance of a professional working environment, harmonious working relationships, and timely notification of absences
- Participation in the interview process of new hires
- Ensuring the implementation of the CQI process and programs
- Chairing the treatment team or designating a chairperson
- Compliance with facility requirements to use the swipe system for time reporting
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Current and valid LCSW license in the state where services are rendered
- Experience in providing services in inpatient/outpatient environments
- Experience in providing services in a correctional environment is preferred
- Strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills
- Ability to interact with institutional staff, medical staff, and agencies of the court
- Satisfactory completion of a background investigation
