Mental Health Clinician
Job Summary
As our Mental Health Clinician, you will provide high quality outpatient mental health services and in-home counseling for children and their families. Supervised by a licensed clinical supervisor in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Board of Behavioral Science Examiners. Every day you will assess and intervene with individuals experiencing mental health needs, collaborating with various team members to facilitate appropriate care. You will contribute to our dynamic Behavioral Health Assessment Team by providing virtual mental health support.
Responsibilities

- Contribute to our dynamic Behavioral Health Assessment Team by providing virtual mental health support.
- Demonstrate professional skills in diagnosis and assessment, case management, treatment planning, psychotherapy, and utilization review.
- Provide outpatient mental health services in the form of individual, child and family therapy, groups, and home-based child welfare services.
- Operate in accordance with all regulations and standards of the State of California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners, the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, and the Department of Child and Family Services.
- Work effectively in a virtual healthcare environment.
- Conduct in-home counseling visits, psychotherapy sessions, case management and comprehensive assessments as per contract requirements.
- Co-lead one or more therapeutic or support groups for clients as per agency need.
- Attend and participate in TDM's, MCPC meetings, and IEP's in order to assist with determining a comprehensive plan for the child/children involved in the referral.
- Complete a comprehensive assessment of the needs of each family member and in collaboration with an inter-agency/inter-disciplinary team, develop a family service plan which addresses family needs and child safety issues.
- Facilitate and monitor child/family progress toward goal attainment and child safety as per the service plan.
- Provide referrals, advocacy, support, and accompaniment to various social service agencies as needed.
Job Requirements
- A minimum of one year's experience in an academic internship delivering child welfare and outpatient mental health services.
- M.A. degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field.
- Valid registration with the CA Board of Behavioral Science Examiners as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, Associate Social Worker, Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, or registration with the Board of Psychology as a Registered Psychologist within 45 days of employment.
- LCSW, LSW, or LMFT/C within 60 days of employment.
- Fire Safety within 90 Days.
