About the role

Join Central City Concern's team at Bud Clark Commons, one of Portland's most innovative permanent supportive housing communities serving individuals experiencing severe mental illness, substance use disorders, chronic health conditions, and homelessness.

Responsibilities

  • Provide mental health assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions
  • Utilize Motivational Interviewing, harm reduction, recovery-oriented, and trauma-informed approaches
  • Support residents experiencing severe and persistent mental illness, substance use disorders, and complex life challenges
  • Facilitate individual and group treatment services
  • Respond to crises and help create a safe, supportive environment for residents and staff
  • Collaborate closely with housing staff, healthcare providers, community partners, and natural support systems
  • Help residents build skills, achieve personal goals, and maintain housing stability

Qualifications

  • QMHP-CLMFT-A or LMFT-LPC-A or LPCC-SWA or LCSW
  • CADC-1 at minimum
  • Highly preferred: QMHP-CLMFT-A or LMFT-LPC-A or LPCC-SWA or LCSW
  • Experience with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI) preferred
  • Necessary competencies: Identify precipitating events, gather histories, assess family, social and work relationships, conduct mental status assessments, document DSM diagnoses, write and implement treatment plans, conduct mental health assessments, provide mental health treatment and rehabilitative services
  • Must meet CCC privileging requirements as required by FTCA. CADC-R at minimum preferred
  • Current CPR certification required prior to start

Skills

  • Advanced knowledge and skills in counseling and assessment techniques with individuals and groups
  • Knowledge and skills in mental health treatment methods, Evidenced Based Practices and crisis intervention
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in substance use treatment methods and crisis intervention
  • Knowledge & understanding of the value of the integration of behavioral health, primary care & substance use services
  • Knowledge of de-escalation methods or ability to be trained in de-escalation methods
  • Working knowledge of Integrated Dual Diagnosis, Recovery Models of treatment, and Trauma Informed Care
  • Computer skills necessary to accomplish duties including ability to document in an electronic health record
