The role is part of the Deaconess Hospital MHA II Float Pool, providing 1:1 sitter care across all units as needed, with CNA skills utilized while functioning in the MHA role. The Mental Health Associate II is responsible for providing a safe, supportive and therapeutic environment while providing direct observation for an assigned patient experiencing confusion, suicidal ideation, or other psychiatric condition requiring close supervision, working in conjunction with the assigned Registered Nurse.
