Mental Health Associate - Addiction Recovery Center

The Mental Health Associate is responsible for supporting the treatment team in providing comprehensive care to patients from admission to discharge. Key duties include assisting with patient assessments, documenting activities, managing behavioral issues using verbal de-escalation and emergency techniques, and working with patients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. They help create a therapeutic environment by setting behavioral limits, de-escalating conflicts, and participating in safety protocols like seclusion and restraints when necessary. Providing group and individual therapies, facilitating psychoeducational sessions, and incorporating recovery principles are essential. They also support patient safety, assist in conflict resolution, and interact with families and caregivers. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a related field, certification as a CADC, and advanced communication and computer skills. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of addiction assessments, crisis intervention, and recovery-focused care, with a strong emphasis on dignity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
