Mental Health Assistant (Part Time, Nights - 12hrs)
Job Summary
The Mental Health Assistant is a nursing caregiver who functions under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. This role provides quality, trauma-informed care in accordance with patient rights, each patient's individualized plan of care, unit standards and guidelines, and hospital policies and procedures.

Requirements
- Experience: Must meet one of the following requirements:
- Minimum one (1) year of applicable experience;
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Special Education or related field;
- Applied Behavioral Analysis Certification;
- Students who have completed two (2) years of a four (4) year Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Training: Desired Preferred: Two (2) years of experience working in a psych program, schools, resident day treatment centers, etc. Time spent in mental health internships will be considered.
Specialized Skills
- Ability to use computer and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Ability to relate and communicate positively, effectively and professionally with others.
- Ability to think critically; work independently; manage multiple assignments; work well under pressure; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English in person, writing and on the telephone.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
- Ability to consistently function in an environment that includes varying unpredictable or crisis situations.
- Preferred: Bilingual.
Licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCM).

Pay Range
Pay Range: Minimum $23.00 Midpoint $28.77 Maximum $34.54 Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.
