Mental Health Advocate - Full Time
About the role
HRI Hospital is seeking Full Time Mental Health Advocates for a 66-bed psychiatric facility with adult inpatient services and several partial hospitalization programs. Located in Brookline, near Boston University and Coolidge Corner, the facility offers easy access to public transportation and free parking.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patient safety on the inpatient psychiatric units
- Aid nursing staff with patient treatment procedures
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment
- Aid patients with activities of daily living
- Perform routine patient care in a psychiatric setting
- Document and communicate unusual or erratic changes in client behaviors
- Aid with patient groups and activities
Requirements
- Experience: High School Diploma and 3 years of psychiatric experience, or Bachelor’s degree in human services field and 1 year of psychiatric experience
- Qualifications: Excellent interpersonal skills, physical fitness (able to lift 50 lbs), comfortable working with patients in acute psychiatric distress
