About the role
The Mental Health Activities Assistant (Recreation Assistant) plays a crucial role in supporting the recovery journey of clients through the development of an engaging activity program and organizing special events.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of the activity program and planning special events
- Ensure residents' spiritual, emotional, and psycho-social needs are met individually
Qualifications
- A minimum of a high school diploma/GED
- A valid California driver’s license
- Current CPR certification
- One year experience in a social or recreational program within the past five (5) years, one year of which was full time in an activities program in a health care setting
- Minimum of one year experience in a psychiatric setting with the chronically severe and persistent mentally ill

Crestwood’s program in Vallejo provides a continuum of care focusing on brief lengths of stay, psychosocial rehabilitation programs in secure, residential settings, and health and wellness programs for elderly residents.
