Membership Sales Part Time

About the role

Responsible for executing Acquisition 365, renewing, upgrading, and cross‑selling BJ’s Loyalty Programs. Also handles merchandise returns, exchanges, pick‑ups, and general customer service inquiries while providing excellent and efficient member service.

Responsibilities

• Promote BJ’s value proposition regarding acquisition, retention, perks, and the member experience.
• Convert potential members by actively and effectively pitching all membership programs in accordance with company policies.
• Sell BJ’s membership products to new and existing members with high energy and determination.
• Drive toward goal achievement defined by business‑established benchmarks and results.
• Demonstrate clear understanding of all BJ’s membership options and co‑brand credit cards.
• Deliver superior customer service as the first‑line point of contact for membership, credit card applications, general questions, issues, merchandise returns, exchanges, product look‑up, and pick‑ups.
• Follow tax‑exempt/resale membership policies, monitor renewals, and maintain tax‑exempt/resale status.
• Resolve member concerns courteously and timely; escalate issues to PIC and MOD when necessary.
• Assist with BOPIC (Buy Online and Pick Up In Club) orders for members.
• Maintain all club policies and procedures and perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
• Uphold GOLD Member Standards: Greet, Anticipate, Appreciate (GAA); Fast, Friendly; Full, Fresh, Clean club standards.
• Ensure all items are stocked, promotional plans executed, signage accurate, and the club remains clean and organized.
• Understand and use production and financial performance reporting for the department.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.

Qualifications

• Prior front‑line/customer service or sales experience preferred.
• Results‑driven with proven success in goal achievement.
• Basic math skills preferred.
• Computer proficiency preferred.

Environmental Conditions

Work is primarily performed in a stationary position on hard surfaces, with occasional bending, handling, pulling, reaching, or stooping to examine or scan merchandise. Occasionally requires lifting objects up to 30 lb; heavier or awkward objects over 30 lb may be lifted with assistance. The environment is a comfortable indoor area with infrequent exposure to temperature extremes, loud noises, and occasional contact with cleaning agents.

Pay

The estimated compensation range for this position is $17.50 – $21.44 per hour.
