Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience in customer service preferred.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of hire date.
Essential Functions
- Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules, and directs front desk and fitness staff and volunteers as needed.
- Regularly evaluates staff performance and develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Arranges and/or provides staff training as needed.
- Implements membership strategies that support recruitment of new members and retention of existing members.
- Creates a member-focused culture and models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
- Fosters a climate of innovation and resolves problems to ensure member satisfaction.
- Develops and monitors budgets to meet financial objectives.
- Annually reviews programs and fee structure and modifies as needed to optimize operations.
- Promotes program and membership enrollment in interactions with existing and potential members and with the community.
- Captures program and membership statistics. Monitors and evaluates program effectiveness and member and program participation.
- Aids in fund-raising activities and special events.
- Create schedules for front desk and fitness staff and post as needed. Ensure that all shifts are covered.
- Provide accurate information about all YMCA programs, membership, and policies, etc. and cross-promote when appropriate.
- Attend YMCA trainings as assigned by supervisor.
