Member Service Specialist

About the role

Primarily responsible for processing member transactions and providing a variety of member services in an accurate, efficient, and courteous manner. Additionally responsible for promoting credit union products and services, maintaining proper control of assigned cash, correspondence, transactions, and credit union documents, and providing assistance and support to the Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Manager in branch deposit, lending, and security operations. This role also provides leadership, technical guidance, and training to Member Service Associate staff members.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance and support to Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Manager as needed
• Conduct loan interviews and process loan applications and documentation
• Provide leadership, technical guidance, and training to Member Service Associate staff members
• Execute member transactions and provide general information in an accurate, efficient, and courteous manner
• Actively promote credit union products and services
• Maintain proper control of assigned cash, corresponding transactions, and credit union documents
• Maintain a neat and organized work area
• Attend all required staff meetings and training sessions
• Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• Friendly, well-organized, and able to portray a professional image in performance, appearance, and attitude toward members, co-workers, and management staff
• Able to balance consistently and maintain proper control over cash drawer at all times
• Ability to prepare and complete transaction and loan documentation
• Perform mathematical computations accurately
• Basic computer knowledge and ability to learn credit union transaction processing systems
