The primary purpose of this position is to provide superior member service, driving member satisfaction and retention by helping members take full advantage of the credit union’s products and services. This role involves accurate and professional member transactions, promoting existing products and services, and making timely referrals. You will also ensure compliance with credit union policies, procedures, and financial regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality member service through accurate and professional face-to-face transactions, including new member account creation, account and card file maintenance, and adherence to Service Center Control Manual procedures.
- Maintain strong knowledge of products and services to meet member needs, including lending, investments, electronic banking, wealth management, and business banking, and provide referrals as appropriate.
- Comply with safety and service standards outlined in the Credit Union’s Policies and Procedures, as well as financial regulations such as BSA and CFPB.
- Complete job training requirements and maintain a cash drawer in accordance with the Credit Union’s Cash Control Policy.
- Adhere to Bank Secrecy Act policies and procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. (or equivalent).
- Required: 6+ months of customer service experience in financial services or retail delivery.
- Preferred: 6+ months of sales experience.
Skills
- Enthusiastic attitude toward helping the community.
- Strong focus on member service and identifying cross-sell/upsell opportunities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in all transactions.
- Professional and courteous communication skills.
- Proficient in basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
- Comfortable handling physical money with accuracy in member-facing transactions.
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook and web-based transactional systems for daily member requests.
- Ability to use 10-key by touch is preferred.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $19.95 to $21.72 per hour (S10), plus incentives and a 3% annual target bonus. Final compensation will be determined by factors such as relevant work experience, skills, education, certifications, location, and internal pay equity.
