About the role

The Member Recruitment Intern is a public-facing member of NMDP on college campuses and within the community. This position engages with student peers and community members to spread awareness, educate, and inspire committed individuals to join the NMDP Registry through captive-audience presentations, tabling events, and registry recruitment activities. The role focuses on cultivating and growing the NMDP mission at colleges/universities and within the community, as measured by new NMDP registry members added.

Responsibilities

  • Sustain campus and community relationships and inspire committed student peers and community members to join the NMDP registry.
  • Engage key target audiences, including:
    • Students, faculty, administrators, and staff
    • Student organizations
    • Community events focused on ages 18-30
    • Local businesses
  • Increase young adult members of the NMDP Registry through peer-to-peer and community engagement and education of diverse communities.
  • Deliver public health information through planning and coordination of registry awareness, education, and recruitment activities.
  • Collaborate with internal NMDP partners and external partners, such as campus and community networks, to maximize NMDP’s lifesaving impact.
  • Learn, retain, and communicate lifesaving information about NMDP to spread awareness and grow the registry.
  • Leverage strong interpersonal skills to develop relationships with students, campus, and community organizations.
  • Build enthusiasm and inspire the community about NMDP’s lifesaving mission through engaging conversations and public speaking.
  • Manage time effectively, balancing internship responsibilities with academic and other commitments.
  • Adapt and problem-solve when plans change.
  • Lead weekly on-campus or community activations, including:
    • Captive-audience presentations
    • Tabling events
    • Collaboration with campus/community stakeholders
    • NMDP recruitment events
  • Set up and break down physical event materials (e.g., booths, tables, chairs) and manage volunteers to achieve weekly recruitment goals.
  • Work remotely with minimal in-person supervision while demonstrating consistent dependability.
  • Learn and become proficient in NMDP’s member registration process.
  • Comply with NMDP’s confidentiality policy.
  • Utilize computer systems, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet search applications.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program at a college or university.
  • Preference given to students who are currently NMDP Chapter members, NMDP Ambassadors, and/or NMDP volunteers.
  • Completed at least 30 hours of coursework.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.8.

Schedule

Will include some weekend and evening hours.

Pay

$18.50/hour
