Member of Technical Staff, Forward Deployed

About the role

We are seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to work on highly specific dataset problems for frontier AI labs. This role involves translating ambiguous customer needs into concrete technical systems, building custom algorithms, model workflows, and large-scale data pipelines. You will work closely with customers to understand their requirements and develop scalable solutions for finding, generating, filtering, transforming, evaluating, and packaging high-quality video datasets.

Responsibilities

• Translate ambiguous customer needs into concrete technical systems
• Build custom algorithms, model workflows, and large-scale data pipelines
• Work closely with customers to understand their requirements
• Develop scalable solutions for finding, generating, filtering, transforming, evaluating, and packaging high-quality video datasets
• Write clean, maintainable code and move quickly without creating brittle systems
• Break customer-level goals down into the models, heuristics, infrastructure, and QA steps needed to deliver
• Motivated by delivering end-to-end outcomes, not just training models or writing research code

Requirements

• Comfortable working directly with customers or external teams
• Strong Python developer with hands-on experience in PyTorch or similar ML frameworks
• Experience building custom algorithms, model workflows, or large-scale data pipelines
• Strong intuition for dataset quality, filtering, labeling, evaluation, and edge cases
• Able to break customer-level goals down into the models, heuristics, infrastructure, and QA steps needed to deliver
• Deep passion for video, media technologies, and frontier AI applications
• Bonus: Experience with large-scale video, audio, or multimodal data processing
• Bonus: Active contributor to open source projects
• Bonus: Experience as an early hire at a startup

Compensation Range

$150K - $350K
