Member of Research Staff, Optimization

For our client, we are seeking a Member Of Research Staff Optimization to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will support financial strategy, forecasting, and performance management initiatives that strengthen business visibility and decision-making. You will partner with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to improve planning processes, financial discipline, controls, and resource allocation. The position offers the opportunity to influence enterprise performance and scalable financial operations within a regulated financial services environment. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $120,000 – $180,000 annually Responsibilities Develop an understanding of Voleon's challenges to propose research innovations Design and implement large-scale constrained optimization methods for trading decisions Validate and implement models into production environments Conduct experiments to evaluate new models in live trading conditions Collaborate effectively with Research Staff and Software Engineers to achieve project goals Stay updated on academic research to apply innovative approaches to Voleon's work Qualifications Strong background in numerical methods and optimization solvers Expertise in stochastic control and reinforcement learning Demonstrated mathematical abilities through publication or coursework Interest in software development and production-level coding (Python/C++ preferred) Collaborative mindset and eagerness to work in diverse teams Interest in financial applications, finance experience not required Ph.D. coursework required; Ph.D. in relevant field preferred Benefits Relocation assistance for qualified candidates Work visa eligibility for qualified candidates Opportunity to direct billions in trades and impact the financial market Access to a collaborative and innovative research culture Involvement in both foundational research and practical applications in a live environment Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
