Pay

The target pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.12 hourly. Offers are often made within the range of $26.00 – $28.00 per hour, taking into account experience, skills, and alignment with internal team compensation. Starting pay typically does not exceed the range midpoint.

Impact

As a Member Consultant II, you will play a key role in delivering a seamless and high-quality member experience. Your expertise in BECU’s products will allow you to identify, diagnose, and address members’ consumer financial needs and refer them to specialized services when necessary. You will serve as a subject matter expert, resolving our members' needs and providing expertise in specialized financial services.

About This Role & Pod Expectations

This role is part of a pod (a group of nearby branches) within BECU’s North District. Pod branches include Burlington and Stanwood. Location support is based on business needs.

  • Rotation Required: You’ll work across all POD branches for up to your first year or more—this is a core expectation of the role.
  • One-Year Commitment: All Retail new hires are expected to remain in this role, POD, and schedule for a minimum of one year before pursuing other opportunities within BECU.
  • Training: Training will include travel to the Tukwila Financial Center.
  • Travel Required: The ability to commute between branches and the training location is required.
  • Flexibility Required: Schedules are typically given 30 days in advance, but you may be asked to adapt to varying schedules and branch assignments based on business needs.

Schedule

Training Schedule: 12 weeks, Monday–Friday, with variable shifts between 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM.

Post-Training Schedule:

  • Variable shifts between Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM
  • Up to 3 Saturdays per month: 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM

Responsibilities

  • Utilize product knowledge to provide exceptional member experience and sales consultation, including areas of business services, consumer lending, deposit servicing, IRA, POA, and Fiduciary accounts.
  • Sign all line and loan documents that originate through the outbound/inbound call center, ensuring each member’s needs are fulfilled.
  • Assist the community with financial wellness through financial education programs, budgeting assistance, debt management, or access to financial planning resources.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience
  • Minimum two years of experience in a sales-oriented, financial, or retail environment

Desired Qualifications:

  • One year of experience in a financial institution
  • Spanish language fluency highly desirable
  • Thorough understanding of the sales process and ability to manage a sales pipeline efficiently
  • Strong proficiency and comfort level with learning new systems and programs; ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously
  • Ability to successfully complete a 12-week in-house training program after hire
  • Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of Credit Union key objectives, product, and service solutions
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to membership, deposit, and loan products and services offered
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills to enable daily communication with members
  • Problem resolution, negotiating, organization, multi-tasking, and peer coaching skills
  • Ability to work flexible shifts
